NYS Public Health Infrastructure Maps: The purpose of this map is to help public health nurses locate their regional partners - either from the local health department or the local nursing school. This map could be posted on college bulletin boards near internship/Practica listings to show where local health depts or regional state offices are located. The map on the first page is strictly NYSDOH Regional and Field Structure as 19 Local Health Depts are not full service and the state health dept conducts the environmental health services and various other services, such as sexually transmitted disease partner notification, etc. The map on the second page has overlaid the nursing schools with this structure in hopes of providing good information about public health locations. This map could be posted at Local Health Depts in hopes of encouraging mentorships and other collaborative activities with nearby schools.

ANA Standards of Practice: This includes a list of the American Nurses Association Standards of Public Health Nursing Practice.
Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR): The Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) is prepared by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Competencies for Public Health Nursing: The Quad Council of Public Health Nursing Organizations is an alliance of the four national nursing organizations that address public health nursing issues and have put together this a set of national public health nursing competencies.
The Community Guide: Evidence-based recommendations for programs and policies to promote population health. The Community Guide summarizes what is known about the effectiveness, economic efficiency, and feasibility of interventions to promote community health and prevent disease.

Monilizing for Action Through Planning and Partnerships (MAPP): This is a community-wide strategic planning tool for improving community health. Facilitated by public health leadership, this tool will help communities prioritize public health issues and identify resources for addressing them.

Framework for Program Evaluation: The framework guides public health professionals in their use of program evaluation. It is a practical, nonprescriptive tool, designed to summarize and organize essential elements of program evaluation.
