The Basics of Weight Loss

In medicinal and scientific terms, it is the decrease in the total weight either due to loss of fat, tissues, fluids and lean mass such as muscles, tendons, bone mineral and other cartilages. Weight loss may be categorized as unintentional and intentional.

Unintentional weight loss is usually brought by natural causes like diseases, improper management of diabetes mellitus or insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, scientific factors like physiological science, behavior, exercise science and other types of sciences. These causes are responsible for releasing tryglycerides from adipose tissue and breakdown of amino acids, resulting into a huge loss in fats and lean mass. When you lose these two, you will surely lose pounds. Other illnesses like diabetes, medications and few liquid intakes can start fluid loss, another cause of bloss. Excessive fluid loss can elevate the risks of cachexia.

On the other hands, intentional weight loss is done with the purpose of reducing weight and improving appearance and health at the same time. Other people who are conscious with their looks undergo different weight loss techniques to remove unwanted weight. They try everything, including pills, surgery and even taking on physical activities to get the pounds off their body.

Weight loss can be good for some people who are lacking the needed physical exercise in their body. However, too much weight loss could also be bad for the body. Know your body’s limit. Follow proper weight loss for your body and enjoy that healthy life you have always wanted.
